ACPELIA – Active Cypriot Programs and European Learning Into Acceptance
ACPELIA is a dynamic, non-profit organization based in Limassol, Cyprus, founded in 2019 with a clear mission: to promote cultural heritage, social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment through innovative education and international cooperation.
Rooted in the values of equality, acceptance, and participation, ACPELIA designs and implements projects that equip young people and adults with key life skills, foster active citizenship, and build resilient, inclusive communities. With over 70 successful Erasmus+ projects and a growing network of passionate youth workers, educators, and trainers, ACPELIA is a leading force in shaping the future of youth and community development in Cyprus and beyond.

Through interactive workshops, youth exchanges, training courses, environmental research, and artistic initiatives, ACPELIA creates opportunities for young people to grow personally and professionally while contributing to their communities.
Volunteering Organisation
Our organisation is a volunteer-based organisation and does not have permanent paid staff. Activities are mainly implemented through the voluntary involvement of youth workers, trainers, and members, while external professionals are contracted when needed for approved projects. We currently collaborate with more than 50 youth workers, learners, and active members, who support the implementation of our activities according to the needs of each project.
Our organisation works on a variety of themes based on the needs of young people and the local community, including:
Culture and Intercultural Activities
The organisation promotes the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage, national traditions, and intercultural dialogue through activities such as dancing, music, customs, and educational initiatives. These activities also support social inclusion, human rights, and intergenerational understanding.
Music, Theatre, Drama and Arts
We use arts, theatre, drama, and non-formal education as tools for self-expression, creativity, personal growth, and empowerment. Our activities support young people in developing confidence, communication, and emotional awareness.
Tourism and Inclusion
Our organisation is involved in projects related to sustainable and inclusive tourism, including initiatives that improve accessibility for people with disabilities and support local development, cultural heritage, and biodiversity.
Research and Science
We also work on projects connected to environment, energy, renewable energy sources, and science education. Through these activities, young people develop critical thinking, communication skills, digital competences, and active participation in both local and European contexts.
